DHMH WORK STUDY/RELEASE PROGRAM 

Welcome to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (DHMH) Work Study/Release Program.  This program offers full and part-time DHMH employees the opportunity to further their educational and professional growth by attending college during their regular work hours with supervisory approval.  Please see these Work Study/Release Guidelines to learn more about the program and its guidelines.   Please Note: Tuition Reimbursement has been suspended until further notice.

If you can answer YES to all of these questions, please proceed with the application process. 

  • I am a full-time or part-time DHMH employee.
  • I have received a satisfactory review from my last Performance Evaluation within the last year.
  • I have read and understand the DHMH Work Study/Release Program Guidelines.
  • I have not started taking my program course(s) and will be submitting my application 30 days prior to the start of the course(s).


INITIAL APPLICATION

          a.      Supervisor’s Approval Letter
          b.      Program acceptance letter from the institution or facility
          c.      Letter from institution or facility providing internship, grant assistantship, practicum or clinical when applicable

         a.      
Course description listing dates and times offered

4.      Work Study/Release Program Obligated Service Agreement

         b.      Program acceptance letter from the institution or facility if a change occurred
         c.      Letter from institution or facility providing internship, grant assistantship, practicum or clinical if applicable
         d.      Supervisor’s Approval Letter

4.      Work Study/Release Program Obligated Service Agreement

PROGRAM COMPLETION 

A program is complete when a degree or certificate has been earned and/or an employee drops their class or is withdrawn from the program.

          a.      
Final Timesheet Report or Copies of Timesheets for previous work study/release session
          b.     
Final College Transcript listing grades for previous work study/release session

Official copy of Degree or Certification
