In our continuing effort to promote transparency and empower consumers when making choices regarding their healthcare providers, the Office of Health Care Quality has begun posting sanctions of regulated providers on our website. While this program did begin on September 14, 2012, no sanctions will be posted until the affected provider has exhausted all appeal rights. Enforcement actions such as the imposition of civil money penalties, bans on admissions, license suspensions and license revocations are examples of the type of sanctions that will be posted. The exact type of sanction posted will depend on the specific facility type or program involved. Sanctions imposed by either the state or federal governments will be included in this program.
