Health Care Quality Accounts Grants Program
The Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) seeks applications for grants for projects designed to improve the quality of care provided to residents in nursing homes and/or assisted living facilities.
Grants Awards Process
Applications for grants are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Grant amounts vary, dependent upon the availability of funds and the number of approved applications.
A committee reviews submitted proposals that meet eligibility criteria and determines which applications are approved. Proposals for federal funding will be submitted to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for its approval. The use of state funds from the HCQA can be determined directly by the committee. Each applicant organization will be notified of the committee’s decision.
This committee currently includes:
• Deputy Secretary for Operations, DHMH (Chairperson)
• Chief Medical Officer, DHMH
• Director, Budget Management Office, DHMH
• Executive Director, OHCQ
• Deputy Director, Federal Programs Division, OHCQ
