Maryland Community Health Resources Commission

The Maryland Community Health Resources Commission (MCHRC) was established by the Maryland legislature as an independent commission in 2005, and met for the first time in March 2006. The eleven commissioners represent diverse interests in the state of Maryland including, non-profit insurers, non-profit health maintenance organizations, hospitals, physicians, and others knowledgeable about health care issues in Maryland. The purpose of the MCHRC is increase access to care for low-income, under- and uninsured Marylanders by providing support to community health resources. The Commission will pursue this goal through various means, chiefly by awarding of grants to community health resources.
