DHMHBlog : This Year, Quit for Someone You Love

This Year, Quit for Someone You Love

It’s Valentine’s Day – that time when we do a little extra something to show the people in our lives that we love them. In honor of Valentine's Day this year, quit smoking for your loved ones, or give them support to quit for you.

CDC and DHMH have a number of resources that will help you quit and improve your health!  It's as easy as 1, 2, 3...

1.  Learn more about how smoking can affect your heart by  visiting the CDC.
2.  Send a free customized e-card to a smoker you love!
3.  Call the Maryland Tobacco Quitline, 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669).

Tobacco users or their loved ones can get free support and advice from experienced counselors, a personalized quit plan, self-help materials, the latest information about cessation medications, and more.  Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to Marylanders 13 years and older.  Adults also receive free access to web-based and text message support (www.quitnow.net/maryland) and FREE NRT - the patch or gum - sent directly to their homes while supplies last!  More information on the Quitline can be found at www.SmokingStopsHere.com. Why wait?  Start a "heart" healthier life and call today!
