DHMH Virtual Data Unit:
Maryland's Source for Health Data & Statistics

Welcome to the website of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Virtual Data Unit (VDU). The VDU is the central hub for all Departmental health data and statistics. The mission of the VDU is to facilitate data access to all data users, define data measures for clear interpretation, improve methodologies for collecting, analyzing and disseminating data, and develop Departmental policies pertaining to data standards, access, release, and linkages.

Please browse the website to explore the data available at DHMH. Data sources can be located by using the Keyword Search box below or by clicking on the health data categories shown in the left-hand column of this page. The health data categories will show data available within each DHMH administration. Data formats vary and include tables, maps, reports, and data portals. Data portals are interactive websites that allow the user to query for data, create tables, and generate charts, graphs, or maps. Additional data resources are added every day, so check back often.
