Continuing Competency News
Revised Regulation, COMAR 10.46.04.04 Licensure and Contact Hour Requirements.
This chapter has been revised, per COMAR 10.46.04.04(c)(2)(a) and (b) to establish that maintenance of certification from The National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) counts toward completion of the required contact hours needed to meet the continued competency standards established by this Board for initial licensure, renewal, or reinstatement. The Board has posted on this website a position statement relative to Telerehabilitation in the practice of occupational therapy in Maryland. The document is available via http://dhmh.maryland.gov/botp/legislation.aspx
Please be aware that there are Maryland State agencies besides the licensing board that have the authority to require the Maryland Bopard of Occupational Therapy to deny or revoke a license for the following reasons:
a. Failure to pay required child support; and/or
b. Failure to pay required Maryland State taxes.
