Responding to the Boston Marathon Bombings: Helping Children Cope with Tragedy

As the nation begins to recover from the bombings at the Boston marathon on April 15, 2013, children and youth may have questions and reactions to share with their families. We want families to know that there are resources available to them as they try - in the best way possible - to help their children cope with this sad and possibly traumatic situation.

It is important for parents to answer their child's concerns in a calm, simple and honest manner. Below are some resources that families may find helpful from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
